Orange Primary-Elementary: Teacher Biographies

Collene Holmstrom ~ Director/ Administrator

I have worked in the area of Human Development and Multi Site Business Management in Orange County for over 30 years. I have also owned and operated my own business in Orange County. Previous experience includes Teaching in Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Elementary school classrooms. Early Childhood Instructor within the community college district. A Regional Manager in State funded CA School Districts to include Capistrano, Tustin Unified and Santa Ana School Districts. I hold two Master certificates, Supervision and Administration & Early Childhood Education. I have a large family and love for opportunities to help develop charter in individuals and groups. I have been involved in Christian fellowship ministries for years, to include service at Chino woman’s Prison, Orange County Harvest and various charities.  I love it when I am able to proclaim my faith as a Christ follower. Clearly I believe in having a “Servant, Leadership heart” and consider it a privilege to be a part of the community! A true Blessing.

I developed an interest in the philosophy of Montessori through first had observations with students and their Teachers. I began to pursue training and researched interests thru UCLA, North American Montessori Center and have participated in several workshops provided by Jonathan Wolf (a well known administrator / speaker in the Montessori community). My interest in continued education is on-going... workshops, trainings and educating in a variety of settings with wide topics is my life...

My experiences and work today, include building upon the educational methods and philosophy of Dr Maria Montessori, where the hand is in direct connection with man’s soul. The whole environment is based on experiences Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Geography, Art and Science. The classroom environment is specially prepared to meet the child's needs creating an atmosphere of peace and beauty, rich with meaningful and varied activities; it abounds in love, security, understanding and consistency. Although the classroom is a non-sectarian classroom, I hope to plant the seeds for spiritual roots of love and inner peace, in it and the community.
