Meet Our Wonderful Staff!

 

Mrs. Virginia Hood, Director

Mrs. Virginia Hood has been a valuable asset to International Montessori Academy of Las Vegas since its inception in 2004. She began at IMA as the toddler teacher and Assistant Director. In 2007 she received her Director Certificate. She received her Child Care Development Specialists Certificate through The United States Department of Labor in 2006. In 2012 she completed her Montessori Certification through UMA for the Primary level (ages 3-6). Mrs. Hood has lovingly taught ages 2-5 for over 25 years. Virginia has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1998. She is married and has 5 children and 11 grandchildren. She is very involved in her church and enjoys gardening.  

 

Mrs. Cecille Loyola, Lead Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher

Mrs. Loyola was born and raised in the Philippines where she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from the University of Santo Tomas. She started her career in the educational field as a Psychometrician and Guidance Counselor. After relocating her family to Las Vegas, she continued her passion by teaching the elementary class of International Montessori Academy. Mrs. Loyola is also a Montessori Certified Teacher.  Aside from teaching, she loves cooking, photography and spending quality time with her family.

 

Ms. Maria Larios, Liaison,Lead Kindergarten Montessori Teacher, Spanish Teacher

Ms. Larios was born and raised in El Salvador where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an area of concentration in Bilingual Multiple Subject Teaching and a minor in Spanish and English as a Second Language. Ms. Larios has taught different levels and ages for over 21 years. In her spare time, she loves to cook and explore new recipes and listening to music. Ms. Larios has a daughter who lives in El Salvador.

Ms. Stephanie Thesman, Lead Primary Montessori Teacher

The vast majority of Ms. Stephanie’s 20 years of experience working in early childhood education programs has been spent at NEYC accredited schools. She graduated from Green Valley High School and immediately began working with children. She has received her CDA and has also received her Primary Montessori teaching certificate.  As an early childhood educator, she believes it is her job to provide a setting that allows each child the freedom and guidance to succeed as an individual as well as part of a society. In her free time she enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and spending time with her family.
